2. Gyarados — The Mighty Water and Flying-Type

Gyarados may not have the legendary status of Mewtwo, but it’s still one of the best Pokémon in the game. This Water and Flying-type Pokémon has a base stat total of 540, with its Attack stat being particularly impressive.

Gyarados is also incredibly versatile, with access to moves like Waterfall, Earthquake, and Dragon Dance. Its Intimidate ability further enhances its strength by lowering the Attack stat of its opponent upon entering the battle.

In addition to its offensive capabilities, Gyarados is also a fantastic choice for its defensive typing. Its Water/Flying typing gives it only two weaknesses — Electric and Rock — and allows it to resist several common types like Bug, Fighting, and Ground.

Gyarados is a bit easier to catch than Mewtwo. In the original games, players could catch a Magikarp and evolve it into Gyarados at level 20.

In more recent games, Gyarados can be found in various bodies of water or in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

However, it’s important to note that Gyarados has a relatively low catch rate of 45, so it may take a few attempts to add this powerful Pokémon to your team.
